A study in reproducing one of Frank Gehry's laminated-cardboard rocking chairs. Gehry's Easy Edges furniture was built from stacks of corrugated cardboard, glued and cut so that the exposed edges become the surface. The chair is one continuous sweeping curve that forms both the rocker and the seat.
The reproduction was modeled in Rhino and rendered, with each layer of laminated board visible along the profile. The work is mostly about learning how a form like this is actually drawn: how the curve of the runners hands off to the seat and back, and how thick the stack has to be to make it a real object.
