Experience

Applied Invention

Engineer / Researcher  ·  Summer 2019 – Summer 2025
Burbank, California

I worked on a variety of projects as part of the Mechanical R&D team. Most notably, as Engineer, I was responsible for the completion of the integrated testing and assembly, as well as installation and early commissioning phases, of the timekeeping and calendar mechanisms for the Clock of the Long Now. Project work involved scrupulous engineering, fabrication, and testing for hundreds of bespoke CNC parts. Other projects included ARM microcontroller programming and data collection for an experimental Smart Tire IMU insert, as well as production part design for an autonomous CNC greenhouse overbot.

SCI-Arc

Digital Fabrication Technician  ·  Fall 2018 – Winter 2020
Los Angeles, California

I assisted students, faculty and staff in the completion of coursework and research using all Fabrication Shop facilities. Within a fast-paced academic environment, I was responsible for advising all shop users and training shop staff in safe and proper operation of all digital equipment.

Rhode Island School of Design

Digital Fabrication Technician  ·  Fall 2015 – Fall 2018
Providence, Rhode Island

I launched a new lab at RISD, establishing programming and training routines on CNC and workshop equipment for a department of 500+ students and faculty. I hired and trained a student monitor base of 20 upperclassmen. Over two years, I doubled student lab usage by implementing new frameworks to optimize equipment scheduling and increase lab accessibility. I worked with academic deans to grow and modify our facilities' capabilities to suit the needs and interests of an increasingly experimental and digital department.
